It's a Girl
Join us on April 7, 2018
Diving deep into the three deadliest words in the world, “It’s a Girl” with award-winning Documentary Filmmaker, Evan Grae Davis.
Tucson-based international documentary filmmaker Evan Grae Davis released his feature-length documentary, It’s a Girl, in September of 2012. Within the next 12 months it was shown in the British Parliament in London, the European Union in Brussels and on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, and in many locations on International Women’s Day on 9 May. The film inspired the convening of the United Nations Vienna Symposium on Femicide on 26 Nov 2012. As a result, Evan gained the opportunity to engage leaders and influencers on the issue of gendercide at TEDxGateway in Mumbai, India in December 2012 and TEDxGrandRapids in May 2013. Since then, It’s a Girl has appeared at over 700 screenings in 20 countries. But what has changed since Evan embarked on his culture-changing mission? Join us for a screening and discussion with the filmmaker himself. See the trailer at https://youtu.be/ISme5-9orR0
